Eastern Shipbuilding is Hiring a Project Coordinator Near Panama City, FL

Purpose:

The Project Coordinator will provide project management for assigned tasks. Will serve as a liaison between multiple trades and disciplines including, but not limited to: Engineering, Purchasing, Production, Logistics, Planning, Production Control, Program and Contractors.

Functions:

  • Provide administrative and analytical support to the Projects.
  • Ability to rapidly obtain, sort, filter, and analyze large volumes of data for distillation into high-level reports.
  • Responsible for maintaining a strong, two-way, communication channel between all teams, stakeholders, and leadership.
  • Assist the Project Team in program tracking and forecasting, project evaluation and monitoring, maintaining compliance with government regulations, and performing data analysis relevant to project tasks.
  • Be a process driver to ensure company operations and processes are followed, encouraging consistency and efficiency on the project.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously while working with a multi-disciplined teammates and clients in a fast-paced environment.
  • Brief project status and issues to Project Managers and other Team Members as assigned.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors supplementing internal resources for projects as assigned by the Project Manager.
  • Understand the project and vessel construction process and key stakeholders. Relate known or potential issues to subsequent cost/schedule/quality impact.
  • Work with various stakeholders to identify, understand and resolve issues that could impact performance on assigned projects.
  • Work with Production Supervisors, Leads, and Superintendents to determine production needs and roadblocks to overcome schedule and cost impacts.

· Review project status, manage schedules & prepare status reports.

· Assist in managing material and subcontractor requisitions.

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of the project team with the ability to exercise diplomacy and tact.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD to read and interpret drawings.
  • Will require the ability to travel between locations as required.
  • Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Reports to the Project Manager

Qualifications:

Education/Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalent, plus basic knowledge of construction, vessel structure and ship systems. Minimum 3-6 years’ experience. An equivalent combination of higher education and experience may be considered.

REQUIRED

§ Construction and Ship Building experience: 2 – 4 years

§ Intermediate level Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook experience.

§ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, general business periodicals, professional documents, drawings, company policies/procedures, and governmental regulations.

§ Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior employees, management, and government personnel.

§ Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment with employees at all levels and the ability to multi-task.

§ Entry Level ability to read prints and interpret industry technical manuals.

DESIRED

§ Ability to use AutoCAD to create and manipulate drawings with background in survey and construction field a strong plus.

§ Knowledge of construction and ship terminology, safety, and OSHA regulations
